The Mulroe residence called Skylands Energy because the indoor climate in their two story, single family home was uncomfortable. Some rooms would feel hot and at other times, the same exact rooms would feel cold. They noticed that downstairs felt cold in the morning and hot at night. When Ted Francisco, one of our HVAC technicians, went to their home to assess the problem, he recommended a furnace replacement for their Rahway, NJ home.
Problem: Recently, the Mulroe home noticed a major increase on their energy bills. There was no logical reason to explain the increase in cost. The energy company did not increase their rates and the Mulroe family did not raise their thermostat to a higher temperature than normal.
Also, they were dealing with temperature issues throughout the day. Solution: Skylands Energy replaced their old and outdated Rudd furnace and installed a Heil furnace. We also installed a Aprilaire whole house humidifier.

Professional, knowledgable, and clean
I requested Everett by name because when I had a problem with my boiler in the past, he took the time to figure out what the problem was, and wouldn't leave until I was satisfied. He showed me he really cares, and that is something you hardly see anymore. He certainly knows what he is doing with boilers. Everett is also friendly and personable, and he treats you with respect like you' re family. He takes pride in his work, and he won't leave you with a problem until it is resolved. And it is not only Everett who treats you this way...I feel like family to Skylands, and I intend to request Everett for all my future needs. If others use him, the won't be disappointed.

I called at 8:30 reported no heat and I was told I was on the list to have a service person to my house before noon. The repair technician called shortly thereafter and said he would be there in ten minutes, which he was and the furnace was fixed before 11:00. I am a very happy customer!

Oil tank installation
The crew arrived exactly at 8am as stated. They were courteous, efficient and informative. I was told the process would take about 5 hours and that's exactly how long it took. I was given the opportunity to ask where I'd like to have the tank installed and wasn't just told "this is where it's going". After the installation everything was shown to me and explained to me. All questions that I had were answered to my satisfaction. Both installers should be commended for what appears to be a job well done.
